Clean shaven: Johnny Depp arrived in Japan without his trademark beard


Captain Jack Sparrow has traded in his famous beard in favour of a soft and smooth face.

Arriving at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday, Johnny Depp showed off his latest look; clean shaven.

But that is where the makeover stopped.

The bohemian superstar stayed true to his trademark sense of fashion wearing purple shades, scarf, hat and a plethora of necklaces, bracelets and rings.

The 47-year-old actor is currently promoting his film with Angelina Jolie, The Tourist.

Depp and his co-star, Jolie, met just before filming began but became fast friends with Depp recounting: ‘It was kind of instant. We got each other’.

His 35-year-old co-star could not have agreed more saying the dashing Depp is ‘just such a pleasure’.

Jolie found another binding tide with her leading man which she revealed to Entertainment Weekly: ‘We’re both not that social. I don’t think either one of us goes out of our house, especially in France. We’re both locked away’.

The sexy co-stars have more in common than just work, both are parents.

While Depp can't keep up with Jolie's brood of six, he does have two children with his partner of 12 years, Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose, 11, and Jack, 8.

But don’t expect the successful leading man to be walking down the aisle with the mother of his children any time soon.

Depp told Extra in June: ‘I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need somebody to say, okay you’re married’.
